The first thing that i did was help make the base of the tree ( I don't have a picture sorry ) and I then moved on to making the outline of the tree seen on the left. My job was to cut off the excess cardboard and create the outline of the tree . The only real struggle to doing this is that the box cutter was very dull so i had trouble cutting off the sides so it took me a while to get it done. But at the end I finally got it done got rid of the excess cardboard on my side of the tree. In this picture I was in the beginning process of cutting out the roots for the tree. I first began by measuring the height of part of the tree root. After that i began to outline the shape of the root but i tried made it look as authentic as possible. To cut out the tree root i used an X- acto and also a box cutter because the X-acto knife was sharper than the box cutter. Once i finished cutting the root out i got some brown tape and taped it to the tree which was hard at first but i got the hang of it. The most difficult part to doing this was trying to get the outline cut out because of the way it was shaped. After my group and I were done assembling the tree some of them started to work on foliage and I worked on cutting out leaves and painting them. To do this all I did was draw out leave shapes and cut them out with an X-acto knife. Once I got the desired number of leaves cut out i decided to paint them a light green so they would look natural. I just mixed both yellow and blue together to make this color for the leaves. There wasn't really a hard part about doing this process because for the most part it was easy. For the most part this project has been fun to do even though it is time consuming. I think that the tree is coming out nicely and i expect for it to look even better when groups are done putting on the bark. I think the most difficult part about making this tree was trying to figure how to make it because when we were first assigned the project we started out by stacking boxes but we found a better solution to make it easier to make the tree. Another hard part of this project was having to cut out the tree on thick cardboard that took forever to cut out. Once we finished cutting the things necessary out everything began to come together.
